Additional age allowance

This is a benefit paid in addition to any Other State Benefits to
those who are aged over 80. The additional age allowance is means
tested and depends on your own individual circumstances. The maximum
weekly amount is £46.35 from April 2003 (i.e. 60% of the full Basic
State Pension).

Eligibility for the Additional Age
Allowance

You may be eligible for an additional age allowance if all of the
following apply

You are aged 80 or over
-
You are not getting a state pension or
are getting less than a full state pension.

You are currently living in England,
Scotland or Wales
|
Receiving the Additional Age Allowance
|
Your additional age allowance should
start to be paid automatically when you become eligible for this
benefit. However if you believe you may be entitled to an additional age allowance
and are not receiving this pension then contact your local social
security office.
